Rare is an understatement of this CCBC display. Only example known. Dubbed the "Jimmy Durante Poster", likely due to the rather large proboscis on the fisherman who is holding a rod and reel, admiring the "New Jointed Pikie Minnow".circa 1926

Though there were a number of items in Langs that also had my interest, this one was in my sights. Not just because of the rarity but because it was one of the first displays I came across I couldn't touch at the time. I think it was the Peoria nationals where Ken Webb (going back in time I know) made a trade with Don Ludy for a stand up Heddon Zig-Wag display. It was quite a piece and Ken had to dig deep. And those who knew Ken know that didn't come easy for the big guy. Oh how Ken went on about what he had to give up on that trade. Well the next day on the floor I come across Don's table and guess what as on it, yep this display.

Apparently Don and Ken traded this poster back and forth a number of times adding to the story line and lore. Even our club President has knowledge and history of this piece dating back some 25 years via Ken. Small world.

If anyone has any additional background on this display or particular advertisement I'd appreciate an email of the detail. Really a unique advertisement from that era even for Creek Chub.
