I've committed to all 7 of these resolutions and hope that you consider a few or all of them yourself: |

I too accept your challenge Stewart with thanks for your leadership. I'm enthused with the new optimistic attitudes of so many NFLCC members now. Lure collecting has entered a new era with major auctions and great meets we enjoy. This new website is so easy to use that even we old timers are posting pictures. I never dreamed we would see this renewal of spirit in our hobby. Thanks to all who are making it happen |

Happy New Year! Great goals, I like it. My goals will be as Stu requested and to work on bringing those not in the club to our site to see what we are all about and to partner to add traffic here. I ask that you join in on a chat, enter a picture contest this year. Mike Butler |

Ever since I got into the NFLCC and lure collecting, my personal goals were much like Stewart has listed and he has a couple that I didn't think about but will certainly do in the new year! My personal favorite is 'authoring an article..." though I would encourage any NFLCC member to do any he listed! Personally, I started collecting in the early 1990's Heddon's River Runt Spook lures which was the reason I started my web site LURE LORE. Since then, it has grown not only as a reference for collectors but resulted in the publication of a book, which, today, is within the reality of anyone willing to spend some time documenting what they have learned about whatever they collect! If we, as collectors, don't document in some way what we know, then it will be lost to history! Think about it! Does anyone in your family have anywhere near the knowledge or for that matter the interest in your collection? A very good friend of mine had one of the most awesome collections of sporting collectibles and told me one day, that he really didn't care what happened to it once he died. From my viewpoint, you should care so as future collectors will benefit from what you know. There are any number of ways today to record your knowledge! Write a book (I would add at no cost to you as there are publication services that will do it for you!), create a web site, post on the NFLCC web site, or use existing web sites to document your knowledge of whatever you collect! I take every opportunity to add pictures to not only my own web site but the NFLCC's as well of color charts, box papers, catalogs, etc. (NOTE: Best part of writing a book is that you will have at the very least your '15 minutes' of fame as it will be preserved forever is it has a ISBN number!) |
