The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (NFLCC) is a non-profit, educational, international organization founded in 1976. The primary objectives of the NFLCC are to foster an awareness of fishing tackle collecting as a hobby and to assist members in the location, identification, and trading of vintage fishing-related equipment.
Bulletin Board
This bulletin board is provided as a public forum for announcements, messages, questions, chat or almost anything else you can think of related to antique fishing tackle. Inappropriate messages will be deleted. First and Last Name is required from all posters, and we recommend that you put your e-mail address in the message area so that people may contact you.

Stuart - Great Idea for a Region 2 meet. Thoughts?

I'd like to offer up want I think is a great place for a future region 2 meet. I stayed the weekend at the Hampton Inn in Wyomissing, PA. It's a great hotel with very clean rooms. Very close (15mins or less) to Adamstown PA. The plus here is that it could definitely support a growing show. Its close to major highways in the area. The attraction to this place is a mall right across the street, plenty of a great places to dine and minutes away from great antiquing in Adamstown. All this offers a reason for members to come to the show and bring their wives which could workout to be a weekend get away rather then just a lure show. The other thing is Morphy's is literally two minutes outside of Adamstown. Maybe the club could combine a show and a Morphy's auction around the same weekend making it even more of an attraction. The accommodations were fair at $119.00 a night for a King size room. I'm sure the hotel would work to lower the costs as well if we'd bring in business. I'd even volunteer to help with the show in whatever capacity possible. |

Hi Bob - that sounds great to me, and I know Wyomissing fairly well as my college roommate is from there and I've been a few times. I must be honest that I'm slowing down at the Regional level in regards to hosting shows, partly because of my new role as NFLCC President and partly because Region II is in such great hands with Gary Lopez and Dennis Ocharzak. Both Gary and Dennis were insistent that the region needed a second show and worked hard to create the Gettysburg room trading show that is taking the spot of the Carlisle Show. Next year, I am assisting with the hosting of the Nationals in Springfield, Illinois, so I won't be in a position to host or co-host at the regional but I'll talk to Wyomissing with Gary and Dennis the next time we touch base. Thanks so much for the idea! |
