Welcome to the NFLCC monthly photo contest,

The recurring photo contests have been created to further highlight, educate and bring awareness to the various manufactures, types of collectibles and variation of lures within our hobby.

The contests will be held monthly, highlighting a variety of collectibles and will be judged by you, the audience.

Our January contest will be focused on the most favored lures in your collection.

We encourage all NFLCC members and collectors alike to participate in our contests and follow the following rules:

Contest limit of 5 individual entries (Pictures/Photos) per person
3 votes per unique user
Pictures must be submitted by the 20th of every month
Voting starts after the 20th until the end of the month
Votes will be tallied and winners announced at the start of the next contest
All pictures submitted must be 2 MB or less
Prize announcement coming soon

TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY / ENTRIES: Reply to this message and use our uploading feature. This message & all replies will remain at the top of the message board for the duration of the contest. Be sure to include First AND LAST names & valid email with your post or your entry will be disqualified.

TO VOTE: Watch for a 2nd sticky post to appear on the 20th of each month right below this message. Just reply to that message with up to three (3) VOTES. Include the names and picture number or description with your voting message.

Feedback, questions, comments and suggestions are appreciated and can be sent to NFLCC-PICTURES@OUTLOOK.COM.

I enjoy the fine distinctions and subtle differences visible across all the different manufacturers. This group pictured here represents 9 different lures that are all from different tackle companies. I enjoy each one of these lures and can recall how I was able to add it to my collection whether it was found in my Great Aunt's garage, or the one given to me by a friend, or the one I purchased at Pigeon Forge.

My most favored lure is the Pflueger Snapie. Originally, it came out in three colors. Later they added the signature moth shaped weight with the same cone shaped part and later went to a coil shaped part. Recently, I learned that while making them with the cone shaped part, there was a transition from horse hair to synthetic fiber for the weed guard. I'm still on the search.

A couple of baits I picked up separately at Nationals in 2016. Trying hard to dig up more info on them. There are at least 8 known examples including these two. The prop washers are made from Glove rivets dated 1903!
