The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (NFLCC) is a non-profit, educational, international organization founded in 1976. The primary objectives of the NFLCC are to foster an awareness of fishing tackle collecting as a hobby and to assist members in the location, identification, and trading of vintage fishing-related equipment.

Did you know this man? He had one of the nicest collections of vintage fishing tackle and was a true gentleman.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I also miss Dick very much, and I miss seeing all of you at the many shows that we attended. You are a great bunch of guys! Dick really enjoyed collecting lures and spending time with you all.

Dick Wilson's passing has left an irreparable hole in the tapestry of the NFLCC. I miss Dick dearly but find joy in remembering the old days when we were all young and healthy ... his subtle smile and the sincere twinkle of enthusiasm in his eyes when we met at a show. We need more collectors like Dick Wilson!

Dick was one of my early encounters in the club who represented the values that made me aspire to attain. In addition to his personal charm and extensive knowledge, he seemed to represent the pinnacle of a gentleman lure collector. I enjoyed the fact that he always labeled most anything he sold or traded with the provenance and history of the item. He was a true lure archeologist, and one that I frankly miss.

I remember him bringing a BF Meek and Sons reel box to Cincinnati and throwing it on the table and saying "One of you Kentucky boys should have this" and pricing the item at $50. He was very cool. We should all do something like Dick.

Wow - what great sentiment below. He is truly missed. I realize that he'll never be replaced, but I hope everyone that knew him tries to emulate what a role model he was to the hobby and to the NFLCC. I have some really great additional history that I will continue to share, but not all of it can be as special as this post.

Dick Wilson was one of the best men our club has ever known. He was a treasure chest of knowledge, he was the definition of honesty, he welcomed new members with a genuine excitement, and he was also a wonderful friend. I have some very special lures in my collection, not because of what they are, but because of who they came from. That's what makes this hobby so special, is people like Dick Wilson.

I will always remember Dick as one of the nicest people I've ever met. He taught a "fishing" class at Kent State University and I happily took that class when I went there in 1987. I saw him at one of the Allentown shows in the early 2000s, he asked how I've been and when I told him I had just gotten married he presented me with a mint Paw Paw Wottafrog as a wedding present. Dick was a true gem of a person and is very much missed.

Dick Wilson was a fine man that will always be missed by the club members that had the opportunity to know him. It was hard to watch as Alzheimer's diminished the intellect of this bright friend but it was impressive to watch Pat( Dick's wife)and his Ohio side kicks bring him to his final shows. He loved his great lures only second to his family.
Thanks for jarring some great memories.
