Hello, my name is Jeremy.

Many places I have been doing research have pointed me to your site as the go to authority on Vintage Lures. I have started collecting and very much a newbie and after starting to purchase some lures I am really getting into the fun part of identifying and tracing the history of them. My purchases have not been for flatfish lures but they were included in the boxes I purchased of the lures I really want to own, but has left me with many flatfish lures and I really do not know where to begin to start identifying the charcteristics of the older model lures unless marked. To be honest they all look the same to me unless the paint is cracking and reveals the wood base. i was wondering if some one could point me in the right direction as to what to look for on these models to at least start to classify them and break them into groups so I can start to reveal the history behind them. I have noticed with the other lures there are distinct features that put me in the ballpark of year produced and maker but these type of lures have left me in the dark. Any help, tips, or hints would be apperciated.

I can upload images also if that will help us.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I finally received my copy of "Old Fishing Lures and Tackle" by Carl F. Luckey and will trying to sort through all of the Flat fish lures I have. I am keeping the really unique ones but will sell off the others as they are not really what I collect and there may be someone out there looking for them.
